[The taxonomy and the indentification of members of the Genera Hieracium and Pilosella is quite difficult, and remains in a state of flux. In places, at least, the recent treatment in the "Flora of North America" appears to be unsatisfactory for Newfoundland and Labrador. In summation, the taxonomy used herein remains somewhat mixed, and many of the identifications applied await further resolution.

This page should therefore be regarded as very much a "work in progress".]
